Happy May Day all! It's raining and chilly here, so not so much with the "ooh, spring weather" but much with the drearies. Oh well, can't have it all, I suppose. ::g:: Not really sure how it got to be May as life has seemed so accelerated lately.

The meme/contest (sort of). I came back from Malice with a bunch of the teaser samplers. They contain the first 3 chapters of my upcoming book, Blood Bargain, plus the first 3 of Carole Nelson Douglas' new one, Brimstone Kiss. In the spirit of book pimps everywhere, I thought I'd do a contest. After a pretty tense night, I've decided to cancel my participation in the fangrrl squee weekend at starrcat's. At this point, I just want to sleep. It's been a tough, busy week, capped off by yesterday's incredibly stressful insanity. I'm praying we don't have to work this weekend. At any rate, I will be *so* ready to see you all at MJ next weekend!

Off work early so I can pack/organize for my writing retreat. Yippee!!! Four days away from work. That, in itself, is a minor miracle.

It's still freaking cold around here, and way too many roads with treacherous patches of snice** to nab the unwary, but no matter. I'm home and will be here for the duration of the evening.

Oh well, the week will be done soon and three-day weekend!! (yes, I know it's Christmas, but I don't much celebrate as exchange gifts, much of which I've already done).

I have little to say about SGA's newest ep: the Game, other than "squee!!!". If you want some really well-thought out meta, check out rageprufrock's take. (Warning - quite spoilery!)

Made a quick run to Whole Foods at lunch for Veggie Booty and a few items. Plan to go nowhere this weekend: just relax, think, write, recharge.

I've gotten a couple of lovely holiday cards from some of you. Many thanks!! (And I'm beginning to think penguins are definitely "in" this year - our company holiday cards have them, as did several I received in the mail).

The results are in.....drumroll......

No leukemia, no lymphoma, no obscure bone marrow disease - just weird as shit blood counts. My doc isn't worried, just perplexed. Next: come back in 3 months for more bloodwork, just to monitor. If nothing's changed, then in 6 months, then a year. After which, he's going to cut me loose.

That's a load off!

Just caught up with this week's Heroes , but have yet to watch Veronica Mars or BSG.

I suck at fangrrl this week.

The 'rents, birki_lib and BIL arrive this evening. Plans are for a nice dinner somewhere - maybe at their hotel, then relaxing, as they'll have been on planes most of the day.

Turkey day= Air & Space Museum, and dinner at Clyde's.

The rest of the weekend isn't quite so plotted out.
