Big Red is back!!!!!

::hugs car and never lets go::

After more than a week in the body shop, Big Red is back in my possession and looking spiffier than ever.

and...it's FRIDAY and we got profit-sharing checks last night!

WEEKEND!

ETA: Oooh - I almost forgot - iTunes now has Supernatural and Veronica Mars PLUS the first season of Kolchak, the Night Stalker - the original!*

Life is GOOD.

I may have committed some retail.

Last year, I discovered this charity organization and ended up with a fab 8x10 signed photo of Tab Huinter (yes, he's a bit before my time, but yay, photo!).

This year, different celebs have donated items to the charity drive and they're available now on eBay.

I'm high bidder on one item (a signed hand tracing by Andy Garcia, fellow Cuban), and plan to bid on a couple more (like, ahem, one of the signed Robert Vaughn photos!).

In other news, cement post: 1; chickwriter: 0, auto body shop: $1300. Not a good mix.

I went to get gas a couple of weeks ago, at a station on the way to work. Because there were several other cars already there, and EACH ONE OF THEM in the MIDDLE of the bay, I had to go to a bay I rarely use, because it's awkward to maneuver into from the angle of the driveway (requires some driving around the station and backing and re-pointing the car).

To my credit, I managed that just fine. Filled up, happy to be paying less than $40 for a tank of gas. It wasn't until I was leaving (pulling foward and trying to get around the island, that I heard the nasty crunch/scrape. Seems there was a rogue cement post lying in wait for the hapless Big Red. Red took it like a trouper, ending up with white scratches and a slight crunch on a fender bit. I dropped Red off at the car place on Tuesday morning and got the verdict late that afternoon. Le sigh. Red should be ready today. In the meanwhile, the a.m. bus is quite pleasant and I've been reading Lois McMaster Bujold's Diplomatic Immunity.

So very glad it's Thursday.

Today's icon brought to you by part 2 of my post.
